You can't break my heart,
so understand, before you try,
how fast 20 years go by,
that I'm smart
enough to keep an ace
shaded from your face.
You'll play with my belief,
but I will know you for a thief.
You can't break my heart
with anything you make me pledge,
with all the sweetness of your age.
I'm fronting all the tears and rage.
I know you always have a goal,
and here's where you can start:
by knowing you can have my soul
but you can't break my heart.
